Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To - Measure distances, drive stakes, and stretch tight lines for layout.
- Bolt, nail, and align concrete forms.
- Transport concrete via buggies or wheelbarrows; assist in shoveling and raking concrete.
- Signal operators to align and position heavy equipment.
- Operate jackhammers and assist in grade leveling.
- Mix concrete and mortar for various uses.
- Align and seal pipe sections, including mechanical joints.
- Erect scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
- Expose underground utility lines safely using hand tools.
- Apply caulking compounds with tools or by hand.
- Perform demolition tasks and dismantle forms and temporary structures.
- Complete daily paperwork thoroughly and promptly.
Qualifications - Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED required. Minimum two years of relevant construction experience.
- Language Skills: Fluent in English.
- Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to follow instructions and solve basic on-site problems independently.
- Licenses: Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Tools to Bring: Concrete boots, claw hammer, tape measure, and small sledgehammer.
Physical Requirements - Stand (15%) and walk (30%) on soil/concrete surfaces regularly.
- Sit during travel or equipment operation (10%).
- Lift up to 80 lbs; push/pull up to 200 lbs during routine tasks.
- Climb up to 5 feet on ladders or trucks; frequent bending and material handling.
- Comfortable using shovels, rakes, hammers, jackhammers, and compaction equipment.
- Work occurs primarily outdoors (95%) in varying weather conditions.
